Stevenson Athletics Hall of Fame Nomination Form

The goal of the Stevenson Athletics Hall of Fame tradition is to honor students, coaches, teams, and others whose commitment and distinctive achievements have brought honor to Stevenson School and its athletics programs. We extend our appreciation and gratitude to the many alumni who shared their recommendations and recollections of the school's athletes and athletic history that significantly helped us form these classes of inductees.

    The process

Nominees are required to have graduated a minimum of 20 years ago and be members of the reunion year classes being celebrated. Even with this focus, the list of nominees often exceeds the number of people we can feasibly honor. Each nominee, when contacted by the school, must complete a questionnaire to provide a comprehensive understanding of their athletic achievements at Stevenson and beyond. We should also acknowledge that because Stevenson did not enroll girls until 1977, the present field of eligible women is smaller than the field of eligible men. This will change over the decade to come, and we will achieve an appropriate gender balance.

    Alumni nominees:

    • Must have played at least one varsity sport at Stevenson.
    • Must be a 20-year time lapse since the candidate's last participation
    • While athletics and academic achievement as a high school graduate are of prime importance, outstanding accomplishments in their sport or a related sport or industry after leaving Stevenson School will also be considered.
    • Distinction in a sport is to be determined by comparing the nominee’s performance to others in the sport(s) including: Having established a school, league, or state record and recognition at school, league, state, or national levels.
    • Inductees will be selected from reunion year classes

    Coach nominees:

    • Must have an outstanding professional career at Stevenson School which resulted in a direct and significant impact on Stevenson School athletics for at least five years.
    • Must have terminated his/her service for Stevenson School at least five years prior to his/her induction.

Contact Justin Clymo '93, director of athletics, at jclymo@stevensonschool.org with any questions.
